RARE ANTIQUE VINTAGE MAZAWATTEE TEA CANNISTER TIN OLD ENGLISH SONGS 21.5cm

This is a fantastic and rare to find Antique Mazawattee Tea Tin with lovely and well detailed images depicting Old English Songs from the early 19. Century to each side and musical instruments to the lid. It is in good condition but does exhibit some age-related wear, which includes some minor dings and some rubbing / marks to the images, but all sides are still very visible and colourful. It measures approximately 21.5cm high and 15.5cm square. The Mazawattee Tea Company was founded in 1887 by the Densham family and was one of the most important and most advertised tea firms in Britain.

During the late 19th century. Although introduced in the 1840s, tea canisters and caddies quickly rose in popularity from the 1880s due their transportability together with growing awareness of the improved cleanliness of individual packaging.

Boxes and tins of Mazawattee blended ceylon teas were released, just like this one, which provided a perfect advertising method to promote sales by these well detailed themed tins.
