The patina and worn paint across this figure give it a wonderful decorative look. The Courage brewery rooster found on many old pubs dotted around London. You also commonly see a red square sign with the same rooster. Courage had its brewery by Tower Bridge, but it closed in the 80s.
Reading museum have one of these in the historical pub memorabilia collection. Condition: This figure is over 50 years old and would have been displayed outside for most of its life, still in complete original condition.
There is wear and tear present in the form of a faded but stabilised worn painted surface, discoloured in sections. They dont come up for sale very often and not many have survived. Size in inches: H 27 x W 18 x D 8. It has been mounted on an antique ebonised oval plinth (21 x 9) to allow for easy display.
