Rare oil paperweight depicting the Shell/Esso Brent oil system showing the Brent field, Cormorant A and Dunlin system with connecting pipelines. Not sure of the exact age but probably 1970s. Where is the Brent Field? The Brent Field is situated 186km (116 miles) offshore, north-east of Lerwick, Scotland, at a water depth of 140m (460ft), and consists of four large platforms; Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta.
The Brent Field was discovered in 1971. Oil production began in 1975, and continued until 2001. As this is a vintage used item there are scratches, please see the photos as these form part of the description. Approx 10cm in diameter x 4cm in depth.
