

Quality Vintage Cammell Laird Presentation Box, probably designed as a table/desk top cigarette box. Embossed with image of 12000 Ton Armour Plate Press.
Silver plate Box on 4 Bun feet. Heavy, over 700 grams Approx. 17cm x 12cm x 5cm. Some of the silver plate has rubbed off on the front image, exposing the copper underneath. There is the Cammell Laird logo of a camel, on the front and an engraved plaque inside that reads:- 12000 Ton Armour Plate Press of Cammell Laird & Co.
Sheffield & Birkenhead This machine was the world's first forging press, installed 1863 at Cyclops Steel Works, Sheffield. Visited by King George V and Queen Mary in November 1918. This is a really lovely tactile quality item with an industrial history. It is in very good condition.
