Yes, it is signed by the man who made it or oversaw its production with his team in his shop in Japan, Kazuo Yairi. This has been my personal number-one recording acoustic for over a decade. It has only left my studio once in 12 years. I recently came across a custom-made Martin that I bonded with. I cant justify having three high-end acoustics right now as I dont play out much at all. I believe this is a 1980s guitar.
Jacaranda Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The elaborate mother of pearl details are beautiful.
Even the bridge pins have MOP. The action is wonderful over the entire ebony fretboard as is the excellent intonation. Includes a heavy-duty, plastic case.
One ingenious upgrade has been added: someone had the strap button hole tapped so that a brass knob screws through a strap and into the instrument, holding it super solidly. The only detractors I can find are that the gold is almost completely gone on the tuning buttons, there are light finish nicks here and there, and there is a 4 repaired hairline crack on the top that you cant really see as it goes along the grain but you can feel.
