Ultra rare Sylvania Television cathode ray picture tube advertising clock. The last one I saw of these, the guy had been collecting vacuum tubes for 45 years and had never seen or heard of another example of this advertising clock. That was 3 years ago.

The CRT is real and was modified by the Lanshire Clock and Instrument Corporation of Chicago, IL to be a clock and still has its tag and guarantee with it. I don't know if these clocks were for Sylvania distributors or gifts for it's employees. The CRT measures 9" diagonally, 6½" tall and 8¼ wide. I assume it is from the late 40s-early 50s and was for a table top television.

There is a rubber foot on the bottom of the tube for support. The clock runs quietly and keeps time.

It comes in its original box. I added air pillows to secure it in place. I will place it in a second box with bubble wrap for its trip to its new home. What an absolutely unique advertising piece.
